For almost 50 years the generous donations to the Talcott Mountain Science Center and Academy have funded the furtherance, understanding of, and passion for science and technology in the lives of students, teachers and adults alike within the State of Connecticut. Today, we call on you for your support to further Innovation, Science, Math, Engineering and Technology (STEM) and research capabilities, as specified within our Strategic Plan. Whether you are a long-time or first time supporter, we deeply appreciate your generosity. There are many ways to give, and many ways in which you can direct your gift.
Cash Gifts
Cash gifts can be made outright. Please make checks payable to TMSC, or Give Online.
Commemorative Gifts
Honorary gifts recognize special individuals, events and anniversaries. Memorial gifts recognize one or more persons that has passed away. All gifts can be designated for a specific purpose or for the general support of TMSC/TMA.
Stock/Securities Gifts
Long term capital gains taxes from appreciated securities are minimized or eliminated when a qualifying asset is donated to TMSC/TMA. Likewise, donors can benefit from a long term capital loss, as well as a tax deduction, if the qualifying asset is sold to take the loss, with proceeds gifted to TMSC. Contact your tax advisor/financial planner for further details. Download Stock Transfer Form here.
Matching Gifts
Many corporations offer programs that match gifts to non-profit institutions. Not only can you direct your gift to TMSC/TMA, but you can request your gift be matched or multiplied. Contact your Human Resources Department for details.
Planned Gifts
Gifting from your estate can provide benefits to you and your family, as well as to TMSC/TMA. To learn more click here.
Pledges - (Annual Fund)
While many pledges to the TMSC/TMA Annual Fund are fulfilled immediately, multiple-payment pledges (ie monthly debits) can be established to fulfill your pledge by the end of our fiscal year.
