My Life As an Astronaut

by Alan Bean
"When he was a boy, Alan Bean loved airplanes. He wanted to become a pilot and fly farther than anyone had ever flown before. Little did he dream that he would someday ride a rocket into space - and become the fourth man to set foot on the Moon! From his daredevil days as a test pilot, to his thrilling experience as a space shuttle commander, Alan Bean has had a life full of adventure. His determination to succeed led him to pursue a second career as an artist, and he became the first astronaut to paint what it was like to walk on the Moon. Now, in his own words and pictures, he shares his life with all of us" excerpt from the back of the book.
