Sky Program Astronomy

Spring 2004

 

The two pictures above were taken by two students, Kevin and Chris, in the Astronomy program
at the Talcott Mountain Science Center, as part of the Spring 2004 Sky Saturday program. It shows
the movement of Near Earth Asteroid 2004 JA during a 3 minute interval. Both students were able to
measure the asteroid's position, and contribute their astrometric observations to the Minor Planet Center in
Cambridge, Massachusetts, part of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
